The Soldano SLO-100 is one of the most iconic high-gain amplifiers ever built, and this early 1989 Seattle-made example represents the model exactly as it established its legendary reputation. Hand-built during the SLO's inaugural production year by Mike Soldano's team in Seattle, this amplifier features the highly sought-after original DeYoung transformers and the unmodified circuit that helped define modern boutique amplification. Renowned for its exceptional note clarity, rich harmonic complexity, tight low end, and effortless sustain, the SLO-100 has remained the benchmark for high-gain tube amplifiers for decades.
This example is in excellent condition for its age with only light cosmetic wear throughout. The original black tolex shows a few minor dents and scuffs from normal use, while the faceplate, chassis, and Soldano script logo present very well overall. The rear vent mounting screws have been replaced with black drywall screws after being re-drilled, and padded feet have been neatly added beneath the original feet for additional protection. Otherwise, this amplifier remains an outstanding and well-preserved early Seattle-built SLO-100.
