Vintage Gretsch 6122 Chet Atkins Country Gentleman in Walnut finish made in 1965 with Original Hard Shell Case. This guitar features a double bound hollow maple back & sides body with a maple top, 3-Piece maple neck and bound ebony fingerboard with a bound headstock. Equipped with its original Gretsch Super'Tron II in the neck position and a Gretsch Filter'Tron in the bridge position. Controlled by its original master volume pot, neck volume pot, bridge volume pot, a 3-Way toggle switch, a 3-position master tone switch and a 3-position standby switch. The 24.5" scale length neck has pearloid Neo-Classic Thumbnail inlays and red side markers with 22 vintage frets on a 12" radius with a medium C profile. The hardware is comprised of gold Grover Imperial tuning machines with Butterbean heads, a bone nut w/ zero fret, a Gretsch Rocking Bar Bridge with ebony base & Bigsby Tremolo tailpiece and G-Arrow knobs.
This guitar is in overall good condition. Much of the original gold plating on the hardware has worn off over time. The headstock has some finish checking and some dents around the top edge. The neck has some light surface marks and small indentations. The body binding has several chips and cracks. There are some scuffs around the edges of the padded back. The plastic cover behind the padded back is missing a couple of screws. The Bigsby bridge has some oxidation and wear. (See pics)
Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 10-46 strings. Includes Original Hard Shell Case.
