Vintage Fender Pre-CBS Stratocaster in 3-Tone Sunburst finish made in 1959 with Original Hard Shell Case. This guitar features a solid alder body, maple neck and maple fingerboard. Equipped with its original set of Fender Black Bottom Single Coils in the neck, middle, and bridge positions. Controlled by 1 volume pot, 2 tone pots and a 3-way blade switch comprised of its original Stackpole pots dating to the first week of 1959. The 25.5" scale length neck has black dot inlays and black side markers with 21 vintage frets on a 7.25" radius with a medium "C" profile. The hardware is comprised of chrome Kluson Single Line Deluxe tuning machines with oval heads, a bone nut, a Fender "Patent Pending" Synchronized Tremolo bridge and white top hat knobs with a single-ply white pickguard.
This guitar is in overall very good condition for its age. At some point in its life a previous owner etched "BO-GARF D872-GS" into the neck plate, trem block, and on the tuning machines. The neck pickup was professionally rewound by Sonny's Custom Shop. There is some discoloration on the back of the neck and some light patina around some of the frets. The frets are on the flatter side and some of them have light divots. (See Pics)
Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 9-42 strings. Includes Original Hard Shell Case.
