Gibson Custom Order One Off ES-335 Factory Alpine White 1968 w/OHSC
Gibson Custom Order One Off ES-335 in Factory Alpine White finish made in 1968 with Original Hard Shell Case (Refret). This guitar features a double bound Semi-Hollow maple back&sides body with a maple top, mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard. Equipped with its orginal Gibson patent number humbuckers in the neck position and bridge position. Controlled by 2 volume, 2 tone pots and a 3-Way toggle switch comprised of its original Centralab pots dating to the 8th week 0f 1963. The 24.75" scale length neck has pearloid small block inlays, black side markers with 22 jumbo frets on a 12" radius with a slim taper profile. The hardware is comprised of gold Kluson single ring double line tuning machines with keystone heads, a bone nut, a Gibson ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge, converted with a stop tail and witch hat knobs with a 5-Ply pickguard.
"Published records show that Gibson officially made zero white ES-335s in the 1950s, 1960s or 1970s." Gibson reserved this color for ES-345s and 355s until they started appearing in the 1980s. This has been confirmed to be the original finish.
This guitar is in overall very good condition with visible signs of age and play. It has visible finish check throughout the instrument, some dings/ dents, finish wear and some chipping, it has a few touch up spots. The original trapeze tailpiece was removed previously and converted to a stop tail in the 70's by its original owner and included. The instrument has received a new bone nut and refret with jumbo frets at some point in it's life/ The tuners were replaced at some point for schallers but the originals were retained and reinstalled, the holes are filled/ touched up. There was a stap lock on the bottom at some point above the trapeze which the stuff was broken off and still there. Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 10-46 strings. Includes Original Hard Shell Case.
