Fender Vintage 1958 Harvard Tweed 5F10 Circuit 1 x 10" 10 Watt Narrow Panel Amp RARE!
$7,299.99
Regular price $5,840.00The rare and coveted Fender Harvard Tweed Amp. These were in essence a beefed up Princeton which were made from 1955 to 1962. These amps were made famous by guitarist Steve Cropper. Steve was a Memphis session guitarist and member of Booker T. and the MGs. He famously used his Fender Esquire and Harvard amp on nearly every Stax hit of the 1960s. These ranged from the mellow arpeggios on Otis Redding's "I've been Loving You too Long" to the biting distorted riff of "Green Onions" by Booker T. and the MGs.
There is a definite deep and luscious tone to the Harvard amps which have led them to become some of the more sought after gems of the small Fender tweed combo world.
Our example has the stock Jensen and input transformer. Sadly the output transformer had failed and had to be replaced. We selected a Heyboer Output transformer as the replacement as spec for spec it was the best possible choice.
The amp ships with the stock input transformer. It has been shorted in the secondary, but should you wish to pursue having it repaired in order to return the amp to 100% stock, the option is there for you. The amp has also been recapped which is a very standard maintenance item for older amps. Again for the sake of collectability, we're including the original caps for you. You wont want to re-install them as they are failing.
The amp works perfectly and sounds killer!
