Vintage Gibson Les Paul Custom in Silverburst finish made in 1982 with Original Hard Shell Case (Re-fret). This guitar features a double bound solid mahogany body with a maple top, 3-piece mahogany neck and bound ebony fingerboard with a bound headstock. Equipped with its original set of Gibson "Patent Stamp" humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions, dating to 1981. Controlled by 2 volume pots, 2 tone pots and a 3-Way toggle switch. The 24.75" scale length neck has mother of pearl block inlays and black side markers with 22 jumbo frets on a 12" radius with a slim taper profile. The hardware is comprised of chrome Gibson Crank tuning machines with tulip heads, a corian nut, a Gibson Tune-O-Matic bridge and black speed knobs with a 5-ply black on white pickguard.
This guitar is in overall good condition. This guitar has received a refret at some point in its life with jumbo frets. There is heavy finish checking on all sides along with some dents and chips on the edges. The finish on the neck has been worn down in some spots and the 9th fret inlay is damaged. The original case closes with only one latch and is missing a few others. (See pics)
The two volume pots have been replaced at some point in its life with push/pulls, suggesting that it may have had a different set of 4-conductor pickups (coil-tappable), but the originals were reinstalled. The pots are now wired as standard, non-push/pull pots as the factory pickups are only 2-conductor and not coil-tappable, so the push/pull pots do not currently engage anything.
Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 10-46 strings. Includes Original Owner's Manual & Original Hard Shell Case.
