Gibson Explorer Government II in Government Tan finish made in 2013 with Original Hard Shell Case. This guitar features a solid mahogany body, mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard. Equipped with a set of Gibson Dirty Fingers+ in the neck and bridge positions. Controlled by 2 volume pots, 1 tone pot and a 3-Way toggle switch. The 24.75" scale length neck has acrylic dot inlays and white side markers with 22 medium jumbo frets on a 12" radius with a slim taper profile. The hardware is comprised of black Grover Rotomatic tuning machines with mini-kidney heads, a corian nut, a Gibson Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge and black speed knobs with a 5 ply black on white pickguard with embossed Eagle.
The Gibson Government Series Electric Guitars are unique and extremely limited edition guitars that represents a very interesting moment in Gibson's history. In August of 2011, the US government seized Madagascar/Indian mahogany, ebony and rosewood fingerboard blanks, neck blanks and even whole guitars from Gibson's Nashville factory in a raid. That rosewood was later returned to Gibson once they reached an agreement with the Justice Department and now Gibson USA features this rosewood on these instruments. The Government Series Explorer is limited to only 300 guitars.
This guitar is in overall excellent condition. It has various small dings and dents throughout the body, particularly on the edges and corners. The pickguard shows some sign of play and there are some light surface marks on the neck. (See pics)
Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 10-46 strings. Includes Original Hard Shell Case, COA & Original Case Candy.
