Gibson E2 Explorer in Heather Poly finish made in 1980 with Original Hard Shell Case (Refin/ Headstock Repair). This guitar features a solid walnut/maple pancake body, 5-Ply walnut/ maple neck and ebony fingerboard. Equipped with Seymour Duncan ‘59 in the neck position and a Gibson patent number humbucker in the bridge position. Controlled by 2 volume, 1 tone pot and a 3-Way toggle switch. The 24.75" scale length neck has mother of pearl dot inlays and white side markers with 22 medium jumbo frets on a 12" radius with a slim taper profile. The hardware is comprised of gold Gibson branded Schaller sealed diecast tuning machines with cloche heads, a nylon nut, a Gibson nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge with added trapeze vibrola tailpiece and gold speed knobs with a 5-Ply black pickguard.
This guitar is in overall good condition. This guitar was completely modified and refinished at some point in its life. It has tell tell signs of a headstock repair under the new finish, and a vibrola tailpiece added. It has signs of screw holes filled under the refin from previous hardware, finish wear, there are some runs in the refin, some tape lines and air bubble pops. it has scuffs, some dings, dents and some light scratches. The original cases latches are all broken. (See Pics)
Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 10-46 strings. Includes Original Hard Shell Case.
