Gibson Flying V Kirk Hammett Signature Model in Aged Ebony finish made in 2012 with Original Hard Shell Case. This guitar features a solid one-piece mahogany body, one-piece mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard. Equipped with an EMG 81 in the neck position and an EMG-H Bridge in the bridge position. Controlled by 2 volume knobs, 1 tone knob and a 3-way toggle switch. The 24.75" scale length neck has mother of pearl dot inlays and 22 extra jumbo frets with a 70's rounded neck profile. The hardware is comprised of Schaller M-6 tuning machines, a corian nut, a modified Tune-O-Matic style bridge, and black speed knobs with a 3-ply white/black pickguard.
This is a perfect recreation of the Flying V that Kirk purchased in 1979 and used in many of his performances. The original guitar was retired from the lineup after being played to the bone. With this guitar, the original has been reproduced to the ultimate extent, including the scratches, weather checks, tape on the back, extra tuner holes from when the original were replaced with Schallers. Kirk's particular settings, such as the gummed tape on the back, the modified Tune-O-Matic bridge, and the escutcheon, as well as the nut width of 40mm, the split part of the pickguard, and other precise work with detailed profiles shine through.
Guitar is freshly setup and re-strung with 10-46 strings and includes original hard shell case and COA. This is a heavily aged guitar from the factory and all damage appears to be original. (See pics)
