Vintage Gibson ‘61 SG Standard Reissue with Kahler in Cherry Finish made in 1986 with Gator hard shell case. This guitar features a solid mahogany body, mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard with a wide headstock. Equipped with its original Gibson Patent Stamp humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions. Controlled by 2 volume pots, 2 tone pots and a 3-Way toggle switch comprised of its original CTS pots dating to the 8th week of 1986. The 24.75" scale length neck has pearloid trapezoid inlays and tortoise side markers with 22 medium jumbo frets on a 12" radius with a slim taper profile. The hardware is comprised of nickel/chrome Gibson Deluxe tuning machines with keystone heads, an added graphite nut with string lock, a Kahler pat applied for tremolo bridge and black top hat knobs with a 5-Ply black pickguard.
This guitar is a very early first year 1961 SG Reissue. The original owner stated "Purchased new in 1987 and immediately had the Kahler added by a luthier."
It is in overall very good condition with some signs of play. It has some light surface marks, some light scuffs, a few light dings/dimples you can see under direct light and a finish chip on the treble side of headstock tip. The pickup covers are lightly tarnished from age and play. (See pics)
Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 10-46 strings. Includes Gator Hard Shell Case.
