Vintage Gibson Les Paul Custom in Cherry Burst finish made in 1978 with Original Hard Shell Case. This guitar features a double bound solid mahogany body with a 3-piece maple top, 3-piece maple neck and bound ebony fingerboard. Equipped with a set of Gibson "Patent No" humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions. Controlled by 2 volume pots, 2 tone pots and a 3-way toggle switch comprised of its original CTS pots dating to the 8th week of 1978. The 24.75" scale length neck has mother of pearl block inlays and black side markers with 22 medium jumbo frets on a 12" radius with a slim taper profile. The hardware is comprised of gold Schaller sealed die-cast tuning machines with cloche heads, a corian nut, a Gibson Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge and gold speed knobs with a single ply black pickguard.
This guitar is in overall very good condition. It has been refretted at some point in its life and the knobs/tuners were replaced. There are some light surface marks and small dents throughout the top of the body. The back of the neck is worn through to the wood and there is some discoloration on the binding. The pickups and pickguard show signs of play and the plating on the bridge is worn a bit. The back of the body has belt rash and some small finish chips. (See pics)
Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 10-46 strings. Includes Original Hard Shell Case.
