Vintage Gibson Les Paul Custom in Natural finish made in 1979 with Hard Shell Case. This guitar features a double bound solid mahogany body with a 3-piece maple top, 3-piece maple neck and bound ebony fingerboard with a bound headstock. Equipped with its original set of Gibson "Patent No" humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions. Controlled by 2 volume pots, 2 tone pots and a 3-way toggle switch comprised of its original CTS pots dating to the 30th week of 1978. The 24.75" scale length neck has mother of pearl block inlays and black side markers with 22 medium jumbo frets on a 12" radius with a slim taper profile. The hardware is comprised of gold Gibson sealed die-cast tuning machines with keystone heads, a corian nut, a Gibson Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge and black speed knobs with a 5-ply black on white pickguard.
This guitar is in overall good condition. There is a small gap between the body and neck binding on both sides, which appears to be shrinkage. There are no signs of a neck reset repair being done to the guitar in the past. There are light surface marks and small dings throughout the neck and body. The back of the body has some belt rash and some deeper grooves around the edges and cavity covers. Some of the finish on the back of the neck is worn down to the wood between the 4th & 9th frets. The gold plating on the hardware is worn and oxidized in most places. There are chips in the neck and body binding. Some of the screws have light rust/patina.(See Pics)
Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 10-46 strings. Includes Gibson 1990's Combination Hard Shell Case.
