Rickenbacker's M‑8E nails that mid‑century champ‑style grind in a feather‑weight 8‑inch combo: single‑ended 6V6 power, true point‑to‑point wiring, and nothing but a lone Volume knob between you and honest tube saturation. The 1961 iteration wears the silver‑grey wrap, keeps the original alnico Jensen, and slips effortlessly from apartment‑friendly bloom to mic‑ready bark—no pedals required.
