The Soldano SLO-100 is one of the most iconic high-gain amplifiers ever built, renowned for its rich harmonic content, exceptional touch sensitivity, and unmistakable overdrive. This 2020 USA-built example has been professionally upgraded with the highly regarded Ground Zero (GZ) Mod, one of the most comprehensive and respected aftermarket modifications available for the modern SLO. Designed to preserve the amplifier's legendary voice while dramatically expanding its versatility, the Ground Zero Mod delivers tighter low end, greater articulation, improved note separation, and exceptional clarity across the entire gain range. Even at maximum gain settings, the amp remains focused and defined, making it equally capable of classic rock, modern hard rock, and aggressive high-gain metal tones.
This modification was performed without drilling any additional holes in the chassis. The added rear panel controls utilize the factory line-out openings, preserving the original appearance while providing expanded tonal control. Additional features include a Pull Gain Cut on the Bass control for a more open, vintage-inspired voice, a Pull SAT function on the Treble control that engages diode clipping for increased saturation and compression, a Variable Negative Feedback control for adjusting overall feel and response, and a 3-way Depth Frequency switch offering Stock, Mid-Boost, and Mid-Scooped low frequency voicings.
This amplifier is in excellent condition with only light signs of use, including a few minor scuffs and small dings in the tolex. It has been well cared for, fully tested, and functions exactly as it should.
