Vintage Gibson SG Les Paul Standard in Cherry finish made in 1961 with Original Hard Shell Case. This guitar features a solid mahogany body, mahogany neck and bound Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. Equipped with its original set of Gibson PAFs in the neck and bridge positions. Controlled by 2 volume pots, 2 tone pots and a 3-way toggle switch comprised of its original Centralab pots dating to the 3rd week of 1961. The 24.75" scale length neck has pearloid trapezoid inlays and black side markers with 22 vintage frets on a 12" radius with a slim taper profile. The hardware is comprised of nickel Kluson Single Ring Single Line tuning machines with keystone heads, a bone nut, a Gibson ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge w/ Sideways Vibrola and black top hat knobs with a 5-ply black on white pickguard.
This guitar is in overall good condition for its age. There is finish checking throughout the guitar along with dings, dents and surface marks. There are some divots and flat spots in on some of the frets. The pickguard is cracked near the pickup selector. There is small patch of finish fill and cosmetic repair on the heel of the neck. We believe the neck was refinished at some point in its life but was not reset. There is a split on the headstock under the high E tuning machine that was repaired at some point. The outside of the case is worn and down to bare wood in spots but functions as expected. (See Pics)
Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 10-46 strings. Includes Original Hard Shell Case and 3 of its original tuning machines.
