Gibson Les Paul Custom Cherry Sunburst 1970 w/OHSC (Refret)

Vintage Gibson Les Paul Custom in Cherry Sunburst finish made in 1970 with Original Hard Shell Case. This guitar features a double bound sandwich body, mahogany/maple/mahogany body with a 3-piece maple top, 3-piece mahogany neck and bound ebony fingerboard. Equipped with set of original gold covered Gibson patent sticker T-Tops in the neck and bridge position. Controlled by 2 Volume, 2 Tone knobs and a 3-Way Toggle Switch comprised of original pots, caps and switch dating to 1970 with the “peter green wiring mod”. The 24.75" scale length neck has Mother of Pearl Block inlays and received a fresh refret with 22 Medium Jumbo frets on a 12” radius with a Slim Taper neck profile with volute. The hardware is comprised of original gold Gibson Waffleback tuning machines with Keystone heads, a new bone nut, a Gibson Nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge with stop tail and witch Hat knobs with a 3 ply black on white pickguard.

This vintage guitar is in overall very good condition with average signs of play and wear for a 50 year old instrument minus the fresh refret/bone nut and harness repair /peter green wiring mod our luthier did. 

 It has light average finish wear, some finish check, some light dings/dents, dimples. scuffs, some scratches/ belt rash, hardware finish ware, and some finish chips and a wood chip on the head stock. A decent amount of this can be seen under direct light (see pics)

Note: The pickup Leads/ a small portion of harness had been modified at some point in its life at the pickups in an odd way which had created a significant amount of resistance and subsequent loss in output and tone of the iconic T-top pickups. It was necessary to restore the small section properly with correct gibson vintage style wire to get them back to how they are supposed to be. Since it was already modded, during this fix we decided to add the now popular “Peter Green mod” for that unique out of phase “quack” sound in the middle position.  The pots/ caps and pickups are all still original.

Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 10-46 strings and includes Original Hard Shell Case.
