Vintage Gibson Howard Robert's Custom in Wine Red finish made in 1978 with Vintage Gibson Hardshell Case. This guitar features a double bound hollow/acoustic maple back&sides body with an arched laminated maple top with bound oval sound hole, 3-Piece maple neck and bound rosewood fingerboard with a bound headstock with mother of pearl tree of life inlay. Equipped with a Kent Armstrong 5KT-06 alnico 5 humbucker in the neck position, controlled by 1 volume and 2 tone pots comprised its original CTS pots dating to the 40th week of 1978. The 25.5" scale length neck has mother of pearl slotted rectangular block inlays, black side markers with 22 vintage frets on a 12" radius with a slim taper profile. The hardware is comprised of chrome Gibson sealed diecast tuning machines with keystone heads, a corian nut, a Gibson ebony base bridge with mother of pearl inlays, adjustable compensated ebony saddle and trapeze tailpiece with howard rosewood Howard Roberts Plaque setting and black speed knobs.
This guitar is in overall very good condition for its age with visible signs of age and play.It has checking throughout the instrument along with some light finish splits.There are marks on it‘s back and front of headstock from having decals on it at some point, you can see the outlines of the shapes. It has light belt rash, some dings/ light dents, finish wear mainly on its neck and some chips. The original Pickguard was removed at some point in its life and is included but it slightly warped, has splits and repairs, repairs and has started to disintegrate from age, the hardware for it is oxidized and rusted.(See Pics)
Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 10-46 strings. Includes a Vintage Gibson Hardshell Case.
