Gibson Limited Run Platinum Eye Prototype 1 of 2 in Satin Ebony finish made in 2009 with Gibson Hard Shell Case. This guitar features a solid mahogany body, mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard with a color matched headstock. Equipped with a Gibson 496R in the neck position and a Gibson 500T in the bridge position. Controlled by 1 volume, 1 tone pot and a 3-Way toggle switch. The 24.75" scale length neck has no inlays, white side markers with 22 medium jumbo frets on a 12" radius with a medium "C" profile. The hardware is comprised of satin chrome Gibson sealed diecast tuning machines with industrial heads, a bone nut, a Gibson nashville Tune-O-Matic bridge, and platinum speed man knobs with a 1-Ply platinum pickguard.
These were the prototype for the Eye Guitar Limited Run Series. Two were made and both were stamped "used" on the black of its headstock. These were originally Auctioned off From Gibson. Twin brother can be seen on the Trogley Guitar Show.
This guitar is in overall excellent condition with some light signs of play. The body has a few surface marks and a small light dimple on the front of body near the top edge of pickguard. The headstock has a few light surfcae marks. The pickguard still has the factory protective film on it. It appears that the lower tip of the pickguard was repaired at some point where the mounting screw hole is. (See Pics)
Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 10-46 strings. Includes Gibson Hard Shell Case and COA & and Gibson Auction Shipping Label.
