Vintage Gibson Les Paul Special in TV Yellow finish made in 1956 with Original Hard Shell Case. This guitar features a solid mahogany body, mahogany neck and bound Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. Equipped with its original set of Gibson P-90s in the neck and bridge positions. Controlled by 2 volume pots, 2 tone pots and a 3-way toggle switch comprised of its original CTS pots dating to the 22nd week of 1956. The 24.75" scale length neck has pearloid dot inlays and tortoise side markers with 22 vintage frets on a 12" radius with a 50's Rounded profile. The hardware is comprised of nickel Kluson Deluxe single line tuning machines with oval heads, a bone nut, a Gibson Wraparound bridge and black top hat knobs with a 5-ply black on white pickguard.
This guitar is in overall very good condition for its age. There is finish checking throughout with small dings and dents. The color has aged into a lighter shade, especially around the edges. There are some small chips on the edges of the headstock and the hardware has some rust and discoloration. At some point in its life, some of the chips were touched up with black paint that can be seen in the UV photos. The back of the neck has some red discolored spots and is overall lighter in color than other parts of the guitar. The case has some split seams. (See Pics)
Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 10-46 strings. Includes its Original Lifton 4-Latch Red Interior Hard Shell Case.
