Gibson Collectors Choice 01V Melvyn Franks VOS 1959 Les Paul #186 of 300 in Sunburst finish made in 2010 with Original Hard Shell Case. This guitar features a solid mahogany body with a bound 2-Piece flame maple top, 1-piece mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard. Equipped with a reversed Gibson burstbucker 3 in the neck position and a Gibson burstbucker 3 in the bridge position. Controlled by 2 volume, 2 tone pots and a 3-Way toggle switch, comprised of CTS pots and bumble bee capacitors, wired in the traditional Peter Green setup of center position out of phase. The 24.75" scale length neck has pearloid trapezoid inlays and tortoise side markers with 22 medium jumbo frets on a 12" radius with a ‘59 rounded profile. The hardware is comprised of aged nickel sperzel sealed Die-Cast tuning machines with cloche heads, a nylon nut, a Gibson ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and gold top hat/ reflector knobs.

These guitars were the first released in the Collectors Choice Limited editions series, this is #186 of only 300 made.

At the time of the Collectors Choice release, the original 1959 les paul this replica is based on was owned by Melvyn Franks, but now the guitar resides with Metallica's Kirk Hammett, which he infamously carved "Kirks Guitar" into the back of the headstock. Originally that ‘59 was owned by the legendary Peter Green, hence its name "Greeny". Peter Green eventually sold it to Gary Moore before it made it's way To Melvyn and so on.

This guitar is in overall excellent condition with some light signs of play. It has a few light surface marks, some light scuffs, some light indents/ dimples, a couple light dings on its top you can see under direct light and a small finish chip on its top rear headstock edge. The case’s tolex has a couple small nics/ tears( See Pics)

Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 10-46 strings. Includes Original Hard Shell Case, COA & Original Case Candy.
