Vintage Martin D-18 in Natural finish made in 1958 with Hard Shell Case. This acoustic guitar features a double bound mahogany back & sides body with a spruce top, mahogany neck and Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. The 25.5" scale length neck has mother of pearl dot inlays and white side markers with 20 medium frets on a 16" radius with a soft V profile. The hardware is comprised of Grover "Patent Pending" Rotomatic tuning machines with kidney heads, a bone nut, and rosewood base bridge w/ compensated bone saddle and a single ply tortoise shell pickguard.
This guitar is in overall very good playing condition for its age. The neck and body show finish checking, marks and dents throughout and the pickguard shows signs of age. The areas around the pickguard are heavily worn from play. A decal of a swan is on the back but has been worn off with buckle rash over time. There are some grooves on the fretboard that were filled at some point in its life. There are some marks on the headstock and the corners are worn down, mostly on the back. The bridge was replaced at some point and the bridge pins were upgraded and it includes the originals. One latch on the case is broken. (See pics)
Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 12-53 strings. Includes Guild Hard Shell Case.
